Hydraulic and mechanical dredging works
Kurstjens has a large number of cutter suction dredgers and mechanical dredging material at its disposal that can be used for the removal of dredge spoil and sludge from bodies of water (from polder ditches to wide canals, big lakes, moats and marinas), sludge lagoons and cofferdams.
All cutter suction dredgers are equipped with a cutter head for the purposes of hydraulic dredging, which slowly and mechanically cuts loose the layer to be dredged. The sludge mixture is then sucked up and transported through special dredging pipes. Applying booster stations also helps the sludge mixture to be pumped for several kilometres.
Using this method and using experienced dredging engine-drivers means only minimal muddying is caused. Hydraulic
dredging is the most compatible dredging technique for the flora and fauna present. A cutter suction dredger allows very precise removal of the dredge spoil.
The cutter suction dredgers are often implemented in combination with a dredge depot, but also in combination with our mobile mechanic dewatering and sand separation plants.
Kurstjens builds its own cutter suction dredgers in-house in its own modern work centre. They are customised and built according to the company’s own wishes. As a result Kurstjens has one cutter suction dredger which has been built entirely using R.V.S. 316 components. This suction dredger can be used in extremely acidic environments. Kurstjens also has 100% electronic suction dredgers, for use in drinking water pumping stations, for example. Furthermore, Kurstjens has a number of cutter suction dredgers at its disposal, which are secured in accordance with the BRL OCE. These suction dredgers can be used in places where secured dredging is required. Unique suction dredgers!
