Cleaning of dredging soil in Valleikanaal
On behalf of Waterschap Vallei en Eem, over 80,000 m³ of unusable dredge spoil originating from the Valleikanaal Veenendaal – Woudenberg trajectory was cleaned for a contract price of € 2,586,550.00 excl. VAT.
As the sole tenderer, Kurstjens chose a method in which the dredge spoil which was being released during the process was separated in to sand and sludge fraction through a number of cyclone steps and in which the sludge fraction was mechanically dewatered. Over 45,000 m3 of clean sand was extracted in total from the heavily contaminated dredge spoil (zinc, PAHs, oil and PCBs)
